my proposed new feature has been languishing since introduction, so i must try to be disciplined about this. the story is from wednesday's onion, mixing sports, politics and satire--but it takes on added poingancy in the light of today's headline.

the n.y. times sunday book review used to have a feature in the back, titled "noted with pleasure," where editors would just print cool excerpts from things they were reading and wanted to share. i always thought that was cool so it's the new friday feature here....
